The Actors' Lab
The Actors’ Lab was launched in support of The Stage’s multi-level educational and outreach programs. The Actors’ Lab provides professional theatre training and community outreach while exploring the imagination.
The Actors’ Lab is comprised of a series of education and training classes focusing on acting, directing and professional development for all ages and backgrounds. Six-week sessions in Beginning and Intermediate Acting, Scene Study, Rhythm of the Text and Introduction to Shakespeare are offered year-round.

Spencer is San Jose Stage Company’s new Education Director. Recently, he served as the Musical Director and Keyboardist for The Great American Trailer Park Musical and Altar Boyz. His extensive experience includes: Bat Boy: the musical (Foothill Musical Theatre), Snoopy!!! and Once on this Island (Pinewood School) and Into the Woods Jr. (Unami Middle School). He received his Master's in Music Education from Boston University with an emphasis on "Musical Theatre Curriculum". While on the East Coast, Spencer served as an adjudicator for Papermill Playhouse’s Rising Star Awards for two years. He currently works as the Musical Theatre, Choir and Music Theory teacher (grades 7-12) at Pinewood School in Los Altos Hills. He has performed across the nation and in Japan and France, as well as on national television.
